MAGA Engineering wins Rs4.2bn Western Province road contract
Sri Lanka’s MAGA Engineering (Pvt) Ltd has won a 4.2 billion rupee international tender to develop the roads from Kirulapone to Godagama and Pamankada to Pokunuwita in the Western Province, the cabinet office said in a statement.
The tender was called under the Asian Development Bank’s Southern Road Connectivity Project and the standing cabinet appointed committee on procurement had chosen MAGA Engineering’s bid as the most competitive.
Roads and Highways Minister Johnston Fernando had submitted a proposal to present MAGA Engineering with the tender, which the cabinet had approved.
The road improvements would include sub-base, aggregate base and asphalt concrete overlaying, concreting, drainage construction and improvements, culvert rehabilitation and construction, bridge construction and widening, fixing traffic signals and street lighting and relocation of utilities.
